Terms of Service
By purchasing a commission, you agree to the following conditions. Please read this entirely and carefully.

- Payment -
All payments should be in USD (United States Dollars). Accepted payment types are PayPal and Debit/Credit card.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is due upfront, and the remaining balance will be due within one month from the invoice date. If you need more time to pay, please let me know and the invoice will be adjusted accordingly. Please note that the commission will not be released until the invoice is paid in full.
Once your commission has been started, only partial refunds are available depending on the progress of the artwork.
- For Woodburning Illustrations: Once I start the wood-burning process, no refund will be available.
- Artist -
By ordering a commission, you are paying for my artistic labor. For children’s books, a contract will be drafted to ensure protection for both the artist and the client. Terms are negotiable should the contract need to be adjusted.
The artwork is guaranteed to be a one-of-a-kind, original creation, interpreted from the client's descriptions of said order and various research gathered for the commission. I retain full discretion over which completed commissions are displayed on my public portfolio, website, or social media.
I reserve the right to reject or cancel any commission, for any reason, at any time.
- Commissioner -
The commissioner retains all rights to their original IP, and grants the artist a temporary license to use their IP for the creation of the commission.
The commissioner may not alter the core theme or age-appropriateness of the artwork after the initial consultation. Requesting a shift toward prohibited or highly sensitive themes mid-commission will result in the immediate termination of the project without a refund.
The commissioner may share, upload, and repost finished artwork made for them ONLY IF it is accompanied by credit to Mad Artist as the artist and a tag to Mad Artist’s relevant social accounts or website. The commissioner may crop, rotate, and resize finished artwork made for them to fit a personal icon, banner, signature, or page decoration.
The commissioner may NOT heavily alter, recolor, change, or otherwise deface the artwork.

- Procedure -
After payment (full or the non-refundable deposit) has been received, the research/sketching process will begin, followed by inking, coloring, and rendering depending on the commission type.
As part of the commission package, drafts/thumbnails will be submitted to the client for approval. The drafts can be reviewed up to two times for free, but any extra draft revisions will incur a small fee added to the order.
These commissions are mainly based on written descriptions, but providing reference photos will allow me to ensure details are accurate (such as colors, shapes, etc.), thereby reducing the need for many draft rounds.
A breach of these terms will result in the cancellation of your commission. Any form of harassment regarding the order's cancellation or status will earn a permanent ban from doing further business with Mad Artist Paradise LLC.
For commission orders, the following themes are accepted immediately:
- Fantasy: Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Mythology, Fairy Tales, etc.
- Animals: Pets, Anthro, etc.
- Nature: Flora and Fauna, Landscapes
- Gothic/Creepy/Gore* (Gore is a sensitive topic, and specific details must be discussed and approved before the commission is accepted.)
- Spiritual: Constellations, Spirits, etc.
The following will NOT be accepted under any terms:
- Genitalia or exposed penetration
- Any content of a highly suggestive or fetishized nature
- The sexualization, romanticization, or suggestive depiction of characters who are minors, or who are visually designed to look like minors/children
- Sexual nature of the following types:
- Rape / Non-con / Sexual violence
- Pedophilia (sexual acts with a minor)
- Necrophilia (sexual acts with a corpse)
- Bestiality (sexual acts between a human and an animal)
