When looking up what species of Owl to design, I remember an old article about a blind Screech Owl that 'holds the stars in his eyes'. I went with the Screech Owl as they are also just simply adorable with their little horn-like tuffs and their small and round fluffy body. 
 
This illustration was painted with Dr. Ph. Martins India Ink and Drewent Watercolor with the concept of capturing the spirit of the Screech Owl and the tense Forest itself in a simplistic way.
